The Athletic reports that Daley Blind is expected to have a medical examination with Bayern Munich prior to completing a permanent transfer to the Allianz Arena. It is believed that he will sign a contract until the end of the current season with the possibility of an additional year. On Thursday morning, Blind was spotted at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam before departing for Southern Germany. We are still awaiting the inevitable Fabrizio Romano Daley Blind announcement however! In December, he agreed to terminate his previous contract with Ajax early.
The 32-year-old wingback penned a farewell message to the Ajax fans on Tuesday, December 27 after the confirmation of his departure by the club. “Amsterdammers are often direct and demanding. That is also allowed, I like that and that is why I can be honest with you. We have a special relationship together, but it wasn’t always easy for me.
“Sometimes I had the feeling that I was playing against some of you and sometimes that I was criticized just a little faster than many other players. I don’t know if my feeling is right. Maybe not. Some will understand me, some won’t. But no, it’s certainly not the reason for my goodbye. I am grateful to you,” part of his statement read.
Bayern Munich is seeking a new defender due to Lucas Hernandez suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the World Cup while playing for France against Australia. Daley Blind has the required experience to fill this position and his performance in the Qatar World Cup demonstrated that he is still capable of performing at a high level as he assisted the Netherlands in reaching the quarter-finals.

He does however not offer the longevity of some of these players and of course comes with the rotation risk. Should you expect Blind to start for Bayern though - you'd have to agree that his price is very cheap for a Bayern Wing Back who may well be able to win you some rewards between now and the end of his deal in the summer should it go through.
If you need that nailed on starter who'll bring the big points, he may not offer you that security in a team as well stacked as Bayern, And with the likes of Alphonso Davies in the side, Blind may be seeing himself used more as a central defender or part of a back three which could limit his chances of those decisive scores playing as a Wing Back.
