Understanding the Different Divisions in Sorare's SO5 Competitions

SO5 competitions are a crucial part of Sorare, allowing players to use their cards in various leagues and tournaments. These competitions require you to build a 5-a-side team, made up of a goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, and one other outfield player.

The leagues on Sorare are split into divisions so that cards of similar scarcity can compete against each other. The leagues available are:

  • Casual: This league is open to common cards only.

  • All Star: This is the most competitive league and is open to all players, including international games. It is the only league that offers ETH prizes for reaching certain points thresholds.

  • Under 23s: This league is open to players from all leagues who were 23 or younger on July 1 on the year you're competing in.

  • Champion Europe: This league is open to players from teams in the top 5 European football leagues: Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1.

  • Challenger Europe: This league is open to players from European teams outside of the top 5 leagues, including the Portuguese Liga, Russian Premier League, Eredivisie, Belgian Pro League, Scottish Premiership, Turkish SuperLig, Austrian Bundesliga, Swiss Super League, and any other league onboarded in the European region outside the top 5 (Champion) divisions.

  • Second Division Europe: This league is made up of the second tier divisions of the Champion Europe countries. English Championship, La Liga Smartbank, Bundesliga 2, Serie B and Ligue 2 specifically.

  • America: This league is open to players from teams in American leagues, including MLS, Superliga Argentina, Liga MX, Colombian Primera A, Peruvian Primera Division, and Brasileiro Serie A.

  • Asia: This league is open to players from teams in the J League, K League, and Chinese Super League.

  • Specials: These are special tournaments with different entry requirements and restrictions, often aimed at smaller galleries.

  • Academy: This league is only open to new managers who have not entered any other tournaments that require Limited, Rare, Super Rare, or Unique cards. In the Academy, players compete to hit specific points totals rather than against other managers.

Here's an example of what a potential line up for the All Star Rare Pro division may look like. As you can see, Pro divisions allow players to utilise up to two Super Rare cards alongside their Rares. They may also use players from any region. This example below uses players from Champion Europe, Challenger Europe and Second Division Europe.

As a Sorare player, it's important to understand the different divisions and leagues available so you can choose the best one for your team. Good luck in your future competitions!
